Romania — Soundport Project

A 30-minute instrumental journey across Romania — eight cities in one continuous arc, from the cosmopolitan lăutari of Bucharest to the warm Carpathian crossroads of Brașov. No vocals; pure instrumental storytelling.

Each track is composed from the music of its place: the virtuosic lăutari capital of Bucharest, where tambal and violin glitter under a nocturnal Calea Victoriei; the deepest archaic village tradition of Maramureș, with its raw zongora and dobă and the wooden call of the bucium; the Transylvanian string trio and Hungarian crossover of Cluj-Napoca, spirited with învârtita and csárdás; the free-tempo Moldavian doina of Iași, breathing through solo nai panflute and cobza lute; and the multicultural Romani brass of Timișoara, where Banat trumpets and tapan drum meet the Serbian-border kolo.
