Latvia — Soundport Project

A 37-minute instrumental journey across Latvia — ten cities in one continuous arc, from the cathedral organ and song-festival grandeur of Riga to the palace baroque of Bauska. No vocals; pure instrumental storytelling.

Each track is composed from the music of its place: the 4768-pipe Dome Cathedral organ and Mežaparks Song Festival modal grandeur of Art Nouveau Riga; the defiant electric energy of Liepāja, Latvia's self-styled Rock'n'Roll Capital; the ringing kokle zither and Vidzeme dainas of medieval-castle Cēsis; the polska and polka dance tradition rising through the mist of Sigulda's Venta waterfall; the balalaika and Russian-Orthodox melancholy of multicultural Daugavpils in the Latgale borderlands; and the sacred basilica organ of the Catholic pilgrimage town of Aglona.
