Canada — Soundport Project

A 26-minute instrumental journey across Canada — 7 cities in one continuous arc, from the Québécois chanson and indie warmth of Montreal to the Plains Cree powwow drum of Saskatoon/Regina. No vocals; pure instrumental storytelling.

Each track is composed from the music of its place: the accordion, fiddle and foot-tapped podorythmie of bilingual Montreal, where Québécois chanson meets indie rock; the Drake-era R&B and Jamaican-diaspora dancehall of multicultural Toronto; the raucous George Street pub fiddle and homemade ugly stick of St. John's, Newfoundland; the Cape Breton strathspeys and sea songs of Maritime Halifax; the Métis Red River fiddle and jigging footwork of prairie Winnipeg; and the steady powwow drum of Saskatoon/Regina, closing the journey on the Plains.
