Each track is composed from the music of its place: the Lab polyphony heartland of UNESCO stone-city Gjirokaster; the luminous southern Tosk strings of Berat, the city of a thousand windows; the heroic northern Gheg tradition of Shkoder, with its lahuta and çifteli echoing over the lake; the Franco-Albanian serenata of Korce, where a French cultural overlay softens the southeast; and Tirana, where all these traditions converge with tallava and modern fusion.
